“Between the inspirators, the music, the warm welcome from everyone, and the awesome workout, I knew I had found the right place.
After having 3 amazing children that keep me constantly busy, I had given up on how my body would look. I didn’t even recognize the person I saw in the mirror. I had tried DVDs and doing some exercise on my own, but I would never stick with it and in no time, I would fall back into my old bad habits. I did some research and decided to try a XaBeat class in Jan. 2012 (I made 2 friends come along with me!). I was instantly hooked! Between the inspirators, the music, the warm welcome from everyone, and the awesome workout, I knew I had found the right place. I had never actually enjoyed working out before but finally I had found something I LOVED! Not to sound cliché, but it really was like having a party, yet I was actually burning a ton of calories! After 10 months, I lost 62 pounds! I am more toned and in better shape than I have ever been. In fact, I just ran my first 10k! I never would have imagined being able to do that!! Not only have there been physical improvements, there are mental and emotional ones as well. I always leave feeling so much better than I did when I arrived. I think back to those early days of my first classes. I literally hid behind the person in front of me. I didn’t even want to see my foot in the mirror! Ha! I think I would have laughed hysterically if someone told me that less than a year after starting that I would become an inspirator. Gradually I started feeling confident and beautiful again and before I knew it I loved dancing in the front and watching myself in the mirror. I have met the most wonderful women in the XaBeat classes and I can only hope to inspire just one of them the way I have been inspired!”

“Not only did I find a cardio workout that I loved I found a cardio work out that loved me!
I finally came to terms with the fact that the only way I was going to take up running, was if a bear were chasing me. Therefore, I had to find some other way to more cardio into my workouts. Not only did I find a cardio workout that I loved I found a cardio work out that loved me! Xa-beat gives my body, mind and my spirit a total high. Xabeat has helped me feel like a woman again and to feel powerful and connected to other women around me. When I am in class with Katie, I don’t feel like I am that “haggard mother of 2, with black bags under my eyes, a seriously over-grown hairdo and waistline who has nothing left to give at the end of the day”. I feel like I can be fun and youthful and sexy and stunning again. I feel beautiful. I am energized. And I love seeing how other women feel and connect in class.

I loved the music, the energy and the overall fun atmosphere of the class.
About two years ago, I realized that without knowing it, I had let myself become used to the excuse that work just kept me “too busy” to exercise regularly. I had gained a little weight, wasn’t sleeping well and was generally feeling stressed and unhappy with the lack of healthy habits in my life. I knew I really needed to find a way to change things. I heard about XaBeat through a friend and decided to give it a try, although I was skeptical that I would like it. I didn’t consider myself to be well coordinated or in good shape, nor did I have any dance experience, so I expected that the experience would be an embarrassing disaster. Looking back, I can honestly say that I am so glad that I was so wrong, because after my first class, I was hooked! I loved the music, the energy and the overall fun atmosphere of the class. Nobody cared when I turned the wrong way or was off a beat (or two). I also found out that I enjoyed learning the basic steps and motions and, that I could do it! I made friends and laughed a lot during class – it was a great experience. Then, one of life’s curveball’s came along when my mom learned she had cancer, and the prognosis was not good. My parents did not live close by and during my mom’s illness I traveled almost monthly to be with her and offer her my support. I can’t say enough, how helpful it was for me to have XaBeat classes as a healthy escape during this time. The camaraderie I found with others, and especially the support, care and concern of all the instructors, that went along with an hour of focused, healthy fun allowed me to stay balanced and maintain perspective. I know I would not have been able to do my best for my mom (and my dad), if I wasn’t first taking care of myself and XaBeat classes were an important part of helping me do that. My Mom also got a big charge out of hearing me talk about, and sometimes demonstrate, “my moves” from class. I decided to become an Inspirator, mainly because of this particular aspect of my story. I would like to share with others not only the health benefits of XaBeat, but to also be able to offer my support, encouragement and enthusiasm for the wellbeing of each person in my class!
